Welcome to the New Normal
Dean of the UCAF School of Music
Often referred to by staff and students as the Double Dean, DD, or D Squared, Dean Plumlee at 46 is an extremely young Dean, but it has proven to be a good choice for the university – he is grown the music department both in size and quality over the last few years. Before he became Dean, he was first a middling composer, then after coming back to get his PhD, he was a professor for over a decade before chosen to be Dean. He is generally well liked but also known to be demanding, although never more than what he demands from himself. He expects loyalty to the program and to him.
While he rarely composes any more, it is known throughout the Music department that he constructs his own violins as a hobby.
